I am really intrique and perplexed at the way the Malaysian Government handle security, especially in the State of Johore. Day in day out we hear stories of Singaporeans AND Malaysians being mugged, harrased and murdered.
In some cases, they happened only a stone's throw from the Police Stations.
With such a security mess, how do you expected foreigners especially Singaporeans to rally in support of the Visit Malaysia 2007. We cannot even stop for less than five minutes to change money to Malaysian Ringgit. In Singapore, the police or the parking attendants are very cooperative if we park to draw money from the Bank ATM or to post letter or run a quick errand.
I have personally wrote letters to the Johore authorities to look into this matter for the good of both countries. Not even an acknowledgment do I recieve.
Another issue is the Traffic Police stopping all Singapore cars irrespective or whether they are speeding or not. Coffee money lah! Is this permissable in Islam. Such act do not happen in the northern states. Why?
Those who have bitter experiences can put their case in this bloq. I hope the Malaysian Government will get rid of these bad hats. Only than can you have "Malaysia cemerlang, Malaysia gemilang".
I can relate on and on regarding this issue. But I leave to other Singaporeans AND Malaysians to participate in this debate. If possible the Malaysian Police themselves.
